A research on aerodynamic characteristics of non-pneumatic tire

Application of non-pneumatic tire (NPT) has been increased during the last decade. The aerodynamic characteristics wheel with NPT studied due to significance on improvement handling and reduction fuel consumption. In this paper, first, an original model was simulated by CATIA software, influence structural parameters Fluent software. simulation calculation results showed that: width spoke length, increase thickness can effectively decrease coefficient. Then, MIRA used study whole vehicle under driving conditions. Studies resistance vehicle, 63.1% at wheels provided front wheels. Finally, wind tunnel test conducted optimized static conditions verify calculation.
